A trauma bond is an unhealthy connection between an abuser and the abused person. 💮

Trauma bonds can happen in a family system, workplace but we most commonly associate trauma bonds with toxic romantic relationships or it could come from childhood trauma. ❇️

Signs of trauma bonding. 🥀

-Obsessing about people who have hurt you, though they are long gone☘️
.
-Continuing to seek contact with people whom you know will cause you further pain🏵️
.
-Going “overboard” to help people who have been destructive to you.💠
.
-Continuing attempts to get people to like you, though they are clearly using you🪷
.
-Trusting people again and again who have proven to be unreliable 🌼
.
-Being unable to retreat from unhealthy relationships
Wanting to be understood by those who clearly do not care💠
.
-Persisting in trying to convince people there is a problem and they won’t listen🏵️
.
-Remaining loyal to people who have betrayed you
Being attracted to untrustworthy people🪷
.
-Being forced to keep damaging secrets about exploitation or abuse❇️
.
-Maintaining contact with an abuser who acknowledges no responsibility💮
.
Sometimes, a person may be fully aware that they are with a toxic person, but they are so conditioned to continue forgiving them that it can be nearly impossible to finally leave, causing them to feel stuck.💠
.
Just understand this♥️
.
You are deserving of health and happiness. 💕
.
To want these things is not selfish.💠
.
Healing starts with giving yourself permission to do what you need to do to engage in the healing process. 🪷
.
You’re allowed to grow and move on from environments and relationships that do not serve you.🏵️
.
Being in an abusive relationship can be devastating to your self-esteem and emotional well-being.🏵️
.
Be mindful of the things you say to yourself.☘️
.
Remind yourself often that you have many positive qualities and that you are deserving of happiness. Be gentle with yourself when you stumble.💮
.
You’re learning a new way of living, and it takes time.🪷
.
Healing from trauma is a process that happens over time and with patience and great care.🌼
.
You have to unravel your past and understan where it all started⏳
.
Don’t give up.🙏
